How casual is too casual?
Have you ever worked somewhere that Casual Fridays turned into the Sweatpants Showdown? There is such a thing as too casual for Casual Fridays.
Here are some ideas on how to enjoy dressing down while still looking polished and professional. Bonus? These outfits transition perfectly to happy hour.
Jeans and Blazers
This is my favorite Casual Friday look because it doesn’t require spending money on things you will only wear once a week. With the right pair of jeans, a cami/blouse/tank, one of your workweek blazers, a pair of pumps or ballet flats and the perfect tote, you can easily mix and match your wardrobe (hint: use my Lean Six Sigma method).
Jeans and a Sweater
For more casual offices, this sweater/jeans/heels combo is perfect. Add the oversized tote and you can transport your MacBook and files to and from the office with ease.
Jeans, Sweater and a Button-Down
For those who don’t get too hot with the layered look, try the jeans-sweater-and-button-down look, perfectly illustrated by Rachel Parcell of Pink Peonies below.
Blouse and Jeans, Skirt and Shorts
Audrey of Putting Me Together gives you four options for what to wear with a blouse that can go from day to night.

Non-Jeans Option
Personally, I love taking advantage of being able to wear jeans on Fridays, but if you are looking for a non-jeans option, check out some options from Vision of Vogue’s Jenna.
